BillPal

Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 August 2026

By using BillPal you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What BillPal is

BillPal is a personal record-keeping tool. It stores the bills and subscriptions you enter, works out when they are due, and reminds you before that date.

2. What BillPal is not

This is the important part, so it is stated plainly:

3. Reminders are best effort

Reminders are scheduled through your phone's operating system. We build them carefully and check them every time the app opens, but delivery depends on the device: notification permissions, battery optimisation, system limits on how many reminders can be scheduled at once, and the phone being switched on.

Do not rely on BillPal as your only safeguard against a missed payment. We are not liable for late fees, interest, service interruptions or other consequences of a reminder that did not arrive.

4. Accuracy of your data

Everything the app shows is derived from what you entered or confirmed. Where a bank statement, email or screenshot is read automatically, the result is a suggestion that you review before it is saved. Recognition can be wrong, and checking it is your responsibility.

5. Your account and your data

An account is optional and exists only to sync between your devices. You are responsible for keeping your password safe. You may export your data or delete your account at any time from within the app. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Purchases

Paid features are sold through the app store, which handles payment, refunds and any recurring billing. Refunds follow that store's policy, not ours.

Free limits in effect when you installed the app will not be reduced for you later. If we change what a paid plan includes, existing purchases keep what they were sold.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break into, overload, reverse-engineer or automate abuse of the service, and do not use it to store content that is unlawful. There is no public feed and no sharing between users, so what you record is visible only to you.

8. Availability and termination

The app works offline; the server is used only for syncing, statement processing and cancellation guides, and may be unavailable at times. We may suspend access that damages the service or breaches these terms. You may stop using BillPal at any time by deleting the app.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.

10. Changes

If these terms change materially, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
